Board of Health
The District Board of Health is the governing body for the Granville-Vance District Health Department. The board is a policy-making, rule-making, and adjudicatory body. It is comprised of 16 members representing both Granville and Vance Counties.
One county commissioner is appointed from each county. The county commissioner members appoint the remaining 14 members, divided evenly between the two counties. The Board is legally required to include: one physician licensed to practice in NC, one licensed dentist, one licensed optometrist, one licensed veterinarian, one registered nurse, one licensed pharmacist, and one professional engineer.
All representatives must be residents of Granville or Vance county and serve a three year term.
